What to do the Day of Surgery ...

  • It is your responsibility to make arrangements for a responsible adult to drive you home and remain with you for the first 24 hours after surgery. You may not drive yourself, be left alone, or leave the facility in public transportation unless accompanied by an adult. Failure to meet these guidelines could result in the cancellation of your procedure.
  • Please bring your insurance cards and a form of I.D. (photo driver’s license, Social Security Card, Photo ID)
  • Please do not wear make-up, nail polish or hair spray.
  • Leave jewelry, including body piercings, and other valuables at home.
  • If you wear contact lenses or glasses, bring a case for their safe keeping. We provide containers for removable dentures and bridgework.
  • Wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothes that are easy to put on and take off. If you anticipate having a cast post-op, please consider that when choosing your clothing.
  • If your child is having a procedure, feel free to bring along their favorite doll, blanket, and stuffed animal or small toy.
  • You may stay with your child until the time of surgery. You then can rejoin them in the Recovery area as soon as the doctor and nurse complete their assessments.
  • Your family/visitor will see you prior to surgery/procedure and, upon notification, may rejoin after surgery.
  •

We are always interested in a smooth recovery. Please do not hesitate to call us at 724-552-0068 with any questions or concerns. It is our goal to make your experience with us as easy and stress free as possible.
